Inchies Projects

I recently came across this type of project. You basically build an image onto a 1″x1″ square. Then you mount it (or a whole bunch of them) onto your project. The types of projects you can do with these are endless. As I make more, I’ll add them to this page.

Oh, and I used these inchie mats from a company called Inchie Arts. Each package contains 72 little 1″x1″ pieces made from artboard. Very nice. It really soaks up the ink, as you’ll probably see from the pictures. Each package also contains a simple project you can make. I found them at a local scrapbook store; I think other places may have them. The company’s web site (inchiearts.com) doesn’t have much info or list the store from which I bought them.

Paper Pieced Image / Stamped Background

The first type of project I thought I’d try is to make (stamp) a simple background, then do a simple pieced image. When I was done, I matted it with DSP, then put it on a mini card (3″ x 3″).

Stamp set: Sock Monkey, Itty Bitty Backgrounds

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Uniball signo gel pen, Summer Sun marker

Paper: Inchie mat (Inchie Arts), Candy Lane DSP (cupcake top), Kraft, Sweet Always DSP, Chocolate Chip

Accessories: 1/4″ Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon

Project 2:

I used my inchie card as a jumping board for a bag topper swap I have on Splitcoast. I knew I wanted to use the Sweet Always DSP, but I had a problem envisioning the cupcake image I wanted to put on there. After doing the paper pieced cupcake, I knew I wanted to put it on the topper.

We had to supply goodies in the attached bag, so I thought I’d use the Cupcake wheel to decorate some address labels. These labels I used to wrap around Hershey’s Nuggets.

Stamp set: Sock Monkey, Itty Bitty Backgrounds

Ink: Regal Rose, Rose Red, Chocolate Chip, Uniball Signo gel pen, various markers (Creamy Caramel, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, Green Galore, Ruby Red, Blush Blossom, Barely Banana, Bashful Blue)

Paper: Inchie mat (Inchie Arts), Sweet Always DSP, Candy Lane DSP (cupcake top), Kraft, Regal Rose

Accessories: Cupcake Wheel, Scallop circle #2 Bigz, Coluzzle, Pretty in Pink 1/4″ grosgrain ribbon, Mini glue dots, Crop-o-dile

I tied the ribbon to the back, to hold the whole thing closed. I didn’t want to use sticky strip, since these were a swap. I figured the ladies would want to eat the candy and MAYBE keep the topper without destroying it.
