I’m putting the original pic onto its own page, along with an update with the new In Colors. If we didn’t have so many people leaving our workplace, I wouldn’t have made these in the first place! Well, actually not. I’ve been waiting to do a project like this for some time. Just never found a good flower image until now.
Here’s the original project:
Stamp sets: Eastern Blooms, Happy Everything
Inks: Groovy Guava, Blue Bayou
Paper: Whisper white, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Dazzling Diamons, Paper Crimper
Here’s the updated version:
Ink: Pink Pirouette Classic, Riding Hood Red Classic, Whisper White Craft
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Chunky Essentials glitter, White Stampin’ Emboss powder, Paper Crimper, Sponge Daubers
Leaf: Fold paper in half. Free-hand cut a half leaf. Roll piece through the paper crimper (note direction of “veins”). Unfold and voila!
Flower 1: Ink flower stamp with lighter ink. Using sponge dauber, add color to the edges of the stamp. I think this gives a softer coloring than the usual rock-and-roll technique.
Flower 2: Ink flower stamp with Whisper White and then emboss with white embossing powder. This gives the opposite coloring from stamping with colored ink onto white paper.
Flower dimension: From the backside of the flower, use your fingernail to curl the edges of the petals (so it looks concave from the back). Turn the flower over and bend the petals toward you where they meet the middle.
Glitter: Use Tombow Mono Multi to adhere the glitter. It sticks better and gives some dimension.
Adhering: I used mini glue dots to glue everything down, bottom layer (leaves) first. The last flower, the sponged flower, I adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to have it pop up away from the other flowers.
Thanks for looking!
