Gift Card Pocket

Here’s a step-by-step on how to make the pockets that hold gift cards. These are based on an ATC/gift card holder kit from 7 gypsies that I got at my LSS. Their dimensions may be a smidge different, but this works and is even. 🙂

Start with a piece of cardstock 4″ x 6″.

Place the 6″ edge along the edge of your paper trimmer with score blade (or whatever method you have). Score at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″.

Turn the cardstock piece 90 degrees clockwise (the 1/2″ scored section will be at the bottom). Score at 3-1/2″.

You will see 3 sections 1/2″ wide. Where the two edges meet, snip off the corner at a 45 degree angle.

On the edge with two 1/2″ strips, cut off the non-snipped piece and snip the other end of the remaining piece.

Snip the last edge of the other strip.

Add Sticky Strip to the flaps.

Crease all folds.

Assemble your pocket.

Using a 1-1/4″ circle punch, cut out a notch in the open end of the pocket.

Done!

If you are doing a series of these pockets (for a mini book, for example), put some marks on your punch to line up each pocket in the same place. I used a piece of Scotch tape across the opening. Some people use Sharpies to make alignment marks.
