Hello, Snow Day! (x2)

The snow day we have been waiting for has finally arrived! It’s not as dramatic (or deep) as it was last February. However, it’s still very pretty, and enough snow that the kiddos around here got, not one, but TWO snow days! Man, I wish we had those growing up! (Although, I do remember university classes got cancelled once, can’t remember if it was for a tsunami watch or a hurricane.)

I had to drive home in some of it on Sunday night, before the snow plows could get ramped up. Thankfully, I was able to stay home to enjoy most of it. I did run out to the grocery store to “top up”. Did you know that eggs and milk are a big seller in these conditions? I think we got 5-6 inches Sunday night, and about an inch last night. We are expecting more tonight… and it’s been coming down off and on all day.

Here’s a view from one side this morning, looking toward the street. I think I shared the same view last year.

As I was getting the mail, I saw evidence that critters were still out and about.

Did you know it is a thing to pull a sled along behind a car? The question is: is it better during the day, or at night? We saw both.

And someone practicing “sliding driving”.

Peek into July 2010 Paper Pumpkin

I am sure some of you are wondering what the next Paper Pumpkin kit will look like. (I have a project tomorrow to show you what I did with the June kit.)

I find it helpful to see any kind of peek, because if I like it, I actually buy TWO kits.  Yes, I am a little crazy. Um, and running out of space…

To receive the July kit, you must sign up by July 10. (You can use the link to the right, or just click here.)

July’s kit was designed to coordinate with three suites in the latest catalog:

Woven Threads Suite p. 13–14 (view here)

Garden Lane Suite p. 40–41 (view here)

Come Sail Away Suite p. 144–145 (view here)

Sure is a lot of greens and blues. Hmm. The colors for the card kit will be: Gold, Kraft, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, Pretty Peacock, Sahara Sand, Seaside Spray, and Terracotta Tile. There will be supplies to make 9 mailable cards, three of each design.

Color Revamp Coming!

You may have noticed that all of the ink pads are on the retirement lists. Not to worry! That’s because Stampin’ Up! just announced that they will be doing a Color Revamp with the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog going live on June 1.

There are two parts: Changing up the colors and color families. Update of the ink pad design.

Color Change

We will be losing 13 core colors:

  • Chocolate Chip
  • Always Artichoke
  • Elegant Eggplant
  • Island Indigo
  • Perfect Plum
  • Rose Red
  • Marina Mist
  • Pink Pirouette
  • Soft Sky
  • Wild Wasabi
  • Wisteria Wonder
  • Tangerine Tango
  • Tempting Turquoise

Six In Colors will be returning

  • Blackberry Bliss
  • Coastal Cabana
  • Flirty Flamingo
  • Mint Macaron
  • Mossy Meadow
  • Poppy Parade

To round out the color families, we have 10 new colors

  • Balmy Blue
  • Gorgeous Grape
  • Granny Apple Green
  • Gray Granite
  • Highland Heather
  • Mango Melody
  • Merry Merlot
  • Petal Pink
  • Shaded Spruce
  • Soft Sea Foam

The color families are being rearranged. Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Whisper White were put into their own category to make space for 3 more colors. I will share the new families later.

In addition, Basic Gray and Basic Black will no longer be offered in the Archival Ink formula. Basic Black will retire and Basic Gray will go back to the Classic Ink formula.

Ink Pad Design Change

This is the reason all of the ink pads are on the retiring list, even though colors will be staying. The molds for the ink pad case are coming to their end-of-life, so Stampin’ Up! made the decision to update the design to coincide with the Color Revamp.

The new ink pad design features a flip-top lid, that should make opening the ink pad easier. (Note: as wtih even the current ink pad design, the lid will slide easier with use. I got to try them out over the weekend at the OnStage event.)

The ink pad has dimples and nubs so that they will stack on top of each other without sliding. They are also less tall, so storing an entire color family will now be easier and take up less space!

Labels in all languages are still included to identify each ink pad. In addition, another label will be provided to see the color of the ink pad while it is open. Genius!

I am excited to get my hands on the new cases. I tried them out during OnStage, and now want to see them in action on my stamping table. 🙂

In case you missed the availability dates in my last post:

  • Individual ink refills and ink pads are guaranteed to be available until May 7, after which they will be while supplies last.
  • Color family collection of ink refills and ink pads are only while supplies last.
  • All other items for retiring colors (cardstock, markers, etc.) are only while supplies last.

Got a favorite color going away? Stock up soon! I did snag more cardstock… 🙂

Retirement Lists have Posted

Hi all!

Yes, I’ve been very quiet, even though I said I was going to try to post more. Well…

Since we are now getting into the end of the catalog season, I thought I’d jump in and post the retirement lists. The lists are broken down into items retiring from the Annual Catalog, and items retiring from the Occasions Catalog (i.e., not carrying over).

The best bet for availability is to go to my online store. If you can find the item and place it in your shopping bag, then it’s still available.

Generally speaking, all items are available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. If there’s something that will be leaving, and you really want it, I suggest not waiting. Get it now!

Stamps are being guaranteed available until May 25, since they are produced in-house. After that time, it will be while supplies last.

Individual ink refills and ink pads are guaranteed available until May 7. After this date, refills and ink pads will be while supplies last. Color collections of ink refills and ink pads are only while supplies last, however.  But, don’t freak out! Stampin’ Up! is not getting rid of their colors. More on this in the next post.

Edited to add: One more thing… Bundle pricing goes away once the catalog period in which it was introduced has ended. Individual products may carry over into the next catalog, but the bundle pricing will no longer be available. Watch for that! There are some bundles for which the individual items will be carrying over.
