Gatefold Card with Stitched Nested Labels

After making a mini gatefold card, I thought it would be fun to make an A2-size gatefold card. Using the Stitched Nested Labels, I could also create a window to sneak a peek of what’s inside.

Stamp: Daisy Lane, Abstract Impressions, Beauty Abounds

Ink: Smoky Slate, Early Espresso, Seaside Spray Blends combo

Paper: Smoky Slate, Very Vanilla, Seaside Spray

Accessories: Stitched Nested labels dies, Butterfly Beauty dies, sponges

I took the color combo from the Color INKspiration challenge #59, posted by Tanya Bell. Isn’t the kitten so adorable?

I had the idea to stamp the fern from the Daisy Lane stamp set, around the edge of my card front, then ink the edges. I did each flap separately. In retrospect, I wish I had worked with both flaps as a whole. Live and learn.

The rest of the card is all clean edges, though. When you open the flaps, two butterflies are revealed.

The butterflies were stamped and colored on a scrap, then die cut. That way, I can add to the card without the color bleeding through to the back. That also allowed me to play with the position of the butterflies.

The card opens up again, just like the mini gatefold card I shared earlier. This gives you a space to write.
