Today’s card started with an accident. I had die cut the largest Stitched Nested Labels just to see the size. I had it on my cutter to measure it for a previous project.
I forgot I had it there, and went to cut some DSP. Why was it so hard to cut? Oh, because my label was there. I ended up chopping off one end. 😦
However, I thought it was an awesome shape to use on a card. But, what if I scored the shape instead of chopping off the end?
And why not add two of the shapes?
Stamp: Animal Outing, Birch
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Mossy Meadow, Sahara Sand
Blends: Smoky Slate combo, Bermuda Bay light, Flirty Flamingo light, Pumpkin Pie light, Petal Pink light, Color Lifter
Paper: Petal Pink, Gray Granite, Whisper White
Accessories: Stitched nested labels dies, Subtle 3D embossing folder
I embossed the flap on which the rhino sits.
Here you can see both flaps open.
I inked up the Birch background stamp in Sahara Sand, and stamped off once before stamping onto the Petal Pink card base. I had to stamp twice, so I could leave off the knot of the full background. I was going for tufts of grass in the Sahara… to be in theme with the rhino.
And here is the inside of the card. (Hmm, kinda bare.)
You can tuck the white flap under the rhino to keep the card closed. But, how would the recipient know to open that flap? (That’s what my husband asked.) So, for the pics, I left the flap un-tucked.
