If you have been following my blog for a while, you know that I like to visit Jennifer McGuire for inspiration. She recently showed Triangle gatefold cards. It made me wonder if I could accomplish something similar with our new Stitched Nested Labels dies instead of creating the flaps separately. The biggest piece is approximately 2-1/2 x 4-7/8, so I made a mini card (some people call these love notes).
Stamp: Piece of Cake
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Bermuda Bay
Blends: Pool Party dark, Rich Razzleberry light, Daffodil Delight light, Pretty Peacock light
Paper: Pretty Peacock, Pool Party, Whisper White
Accessories: Old Olive/Pretty Peacock reversible ribbon, Stitched Shapes dies, Stitched Nested Labels dies, Cake builder punch
The base is Pretty Peacock, cut to 3″ x3″.
The “gatefold” part is the largest label, cut from Pool Party cardstock, then scored at 1-1/8″ and 3-5/8″.
Inside, there is a smaller card from Whisper White, 2-1/4″ x 4-1/2″, scored in half. I stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay.
You can open up the white mini-er card to write your greeting.
The belly band is made from the Old Olive and Pretty Peacock reversible ribbon. So pretty! The ends are between two stitched circles (second smallest). I made sure there is some slack so the belly band can slide on/off easily.
The cake and stand are assembled on top of the stitched circle.
TIP: You can stamp the cake and stand together to punch out at the same time. You just need a template of the punch (I punch a scrap or a post-it and keep with the set). Set the stamps in the right spots, stamping side down, then pick up with acrylic block. Now they are in the right spots!
Oh, this made me giggle. I love how it turned out!
