March Newsletter

Here we are in the last month of Sale-a-bration. Have you checked out all of the fun products? Stampin’ Up! made a couple of announcements that you’ll want to check out.

But first, let’s play.

Project of the Month

I really like the resist papers being offered as a Sale-a-bration item. This card was inspired by a Mojo Monday sketch, as well as a card by Mary Brown, in which I think she used the leaf pattern as a strip.

Stamp set: none

Ink: Pear Pizzazz

Paper: Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Blackberry Bliss, Irresistably Yours Specialty DSP (SAB)

Accessories: Spring Flowers textured impressions folder (Occasions catalog), Beautiful Wings embosslits, Dazzling Details, Stamping sponges

I thought the background embossing helps reinforce the botanical theme of the resist paper. Do you like the stripe of color on just the left side? I applied painter’s tape across the middle and sponged color only that side. Maybe you can see it better here:

I think the side left uncolored makes it a bit interesting.

I originally planed on using the butterfly thinlits from the Occasions catalog, but found the middle butterfly to be too big for this particular card.

Do you also like how I used two strips of cardstock for the diagonal element? That was also inspired by Mary’s card.

More Sale-a-bration Items

For the last month of Sale-a-bration, Stampin’ Up! has released four NEW, fun items. There are two new stamp sets (available in wood-mount or clear-mount), one accessory pack in the 2014 In Colors (can’t wait to try these!), and a 6×6 vellum overlay package.

You can see the item numbers and images on this handy flyer.

Blendabilities Temporarily Unavailable

Have you played with the alcohol markers from Stampin’ Up! Well, if you have, I hope you have been having fun. If you’ve been waiting for them, especially since they are Sale-a-bration items you can redeem, well, I have unfortunate news. Blendabilities are currently unavailable to order (or redeem). Ordering of these items have been turned off due to a quality issue that has been discovered.

Once Stampin’ Up! has more information, or determines that it meets their quality standards again (so that you have a great product in-hand), I’ll post an update.
