September Newsletter and Project
Fall is definitely on its way… the sun comes up just a bit later and the temperatures are not quite as intense.
And, school traffic is affecting my commute! 🙂
So, let’s ignore all that and concentrate on fun, crafty stuff! 🙂
Project of the Month
When I saw the DSP for Halloween, while at Convention, I fell in love! But then, came the challenge of cutting into it and using it on projects…
The stamp set used on this card was an all-attendee giveaway at Convention. Oh, so happy! When I finally was able to view the Holiday Catalog (in between the busy-ness of Convention activities), this was one of the stamp sets that caught my eye. Don’t ask me why, though, since it’s geared toward invitations… Since when do I throw parties???
Stamp set: Holiday Invitation (Holiday Catalog; photopolymer)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Basic Black, Tangelo Twist, Motley Monsters DSP (Holiday Catalog)
Accessories: Stampin’ Trimmer with Small Scallop blade, Tangelo Twist stitched satin ribbon
Isn’t that just simple and cute? I love it!
Because the stamp set is in photopolymer, it was a breeze to put both parts of the sentiment on my clear block, get it all lined up, and stamp!
The strip of Basic Black is “spliced” onto the Bermuda Bay card base. I cut 2″ off the front panel of the Bermuda Bay card base and added the same size back in Basic Black. The DSP panel holds it all together. Keeps the number of layers down (and the bulk), since I backed the DSP strip with Tangelo Twist.
It’s interesting how a card evolves. I originally created this one:
Don’t you love how the addition of just the ribbon (and the small stamping in the upper right corner) make the card seem more complete?
The Holiday Catalog is now live!
For those of you on my mailing list, I apologize… I’m a little bit behind schedule. You’ll be getting a cute sample card with your catalog, though, so look for it to come soon!
In the meantime, you can browse at my online store.
With the arrival of the Holiday Catalog is a new hostess promotion.
There are no hostess stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog. Instead, Stampin’ Up! is offering a special set for qualifying orders, and letting you spend your hostess dollars on regular merchandise (from the Annual Catalog or the Holiday Catalog).
For any order or workshop totaling $300 or more, you will receive a free Good Greetings stamp set. It is available in either wood-mount or clear-mount.
The stamp set contains 19 sentiment stamps good for the holidays and the rest of the year in a fun font. You can view the images and item numbers on the handy PDF.
This promotion runs until October 31.
