May Stamping Newsletter
Well, here we are, a little bit late. A little late than never, right?
May is a transitional month, so let’s see if we can summarize what’s going on! But first, a little bit of inspiration.
Project of the Month
This is a card I made as a prototype to use for a swap at the Catalog event I went to a couple of weeks ago. I decided at the last minute that I wanted to stay low-key, so never did swaps. I shared some of the other cards I made, but I saved the fanciest one for the newsletter.
Stamp set: Hardwood (Occasions catalog), Petite Petals (Occasions catalog), Everything Eleanor
Ink: Crumb Cake, Crisp Canteloupe, Pear Pizzazz
Paper: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Crisp Canteloupe
Accessories: Crumb Cake seam binding, Vintage faceted buttons, Linen thread, Stampin’ sponges, Top Note Bigz die, Perfect Polka Dots textured impressions folder, Petite Petals punch, Pearls Basic Jewels
Did I go overboard? 🙂
The inspiration of this card was seeing swap sign-ups for a Vintage card swap at Convention. I didn’t sign up for the swap, but it did get me thinking upon whether Stampin’ Up! has a lot of options for vintage style, and if I had any of those products. I think I ended up with what I’d call Shabby Chic. But, I like it.
I also put a Top Note die cut on the inside of the card, but didn’t stamp or do any sponging. Just kept it simple. Got that idea from some cards that Patty Bennett shared about a month ago.
Hopefully, by now, you know about the retiring accessories and stamps. There are links to the right with PDFs that Stampin’ Up! updates at the end of each business day. Most retiring In Color items are already sold out! And for the first time, retiring stamps have been available on a “while supplies last” basis. If you check out THAT list, you will see that about half of the retiring stamps are already gone as well. (Some that may be sold out in one mount style may still be available in the other style.)
Retiring items are being offered until June 4 or while supplies last. If you are still considering some retiring items, the best bet is to go to my online store and start from there. It will show up-to-date availability.
June 1 is the last day to purchase items from the Occasions Catalog. Some items will be carrying over to the new Annual Catalog (yay!), but most are not. If you are interested in something but not sure, send me a note and I’ll let you know whether now is your last chance!
Stampin’ Up! is partnering with Becky Higgins to offer exclusive products for the Project Life system! If you feel like you are behind in your scrapbooking, or feel intimidated by it, then Project Life may be just for you!
There will be many items available in the new Annual Catalog, but right now you can start ordering some of these products. The preorder list can be found on this PDF.

Paper Pumpkin Changes
Starting in June, any new subscriber to My Paper Pumpkin will no longer receive the Welcome Kit. Instead they will receive the same kit as everyone else! New subscribers won’t have to feel left out when they see what everyone else received that month. They will still get an acrylic block, sent with the first kit they receive. Note that this block will be similar to the one included in other card kits (such as the Everyday Occasions kit or the Hip Hip Hooray card kit). It is a slimmer block than the regular ones offered in the Annual Catalog, but will work to get you started with your stamping.
Also, Stampin’ Up! has just introduced pre-paid Paper Pumpkin subscriptions. If you feel like you’ve rather pay for everything up-front, give a gift, or get a small discount (!), then you may want to look at this option. Current subscribers can use this option; it is not just for new subscribers. You can even add this to a workshop order and the hostess can receive benefits from it!
To find out more about pricing, please refer to this PDF. Discounts are available on 6-month and 12-month subscriptions.
Pre-paid subscriptions can be redeemed at mypaperpumpkin.com. After ordering the pre-paid subscription, you will receive an email with redemption information. You can use this for your own subscription, or pass it on to your gift recipient.
2014-2015 Annual Catalog
The new Annual Catalog arrives on June 2, 2014. I have already received my cases for giving away! If you have purchased from me in the past year, I will be happy to send you a free copy. You just need to contact me with your current mailing address as confirmation that you want to receive the new catalog.
I will be mailing out catalogs in late May.
