I might have mentioned before that the Sweet Sorbet DSP from Sale-a-bration (i.e., FREE paper!) has lots of great patterns. The color combo is really soft, and the mix of patterns makes the pack useable for all kinds of occasions.
I was looking for a way to create an easy card, and think I managed to do that here.
Stamp set: Hello, Lovely
Ink: Basic Black marker
Paper: Pistachio Pudding, Basic Black, Crisp Canteloupe, Very Vanilla, Sweet Sorbet DSP (SAB)
Accessories: Decorative label punch, Scallop oval punch, Large oval punch
See, isn’t that simple? I put a 3″ x 4″ piece of the mixed floral pattern on a 3-1/8″ x 4-1/8″ piece of Basic Black. The frame of Basic Black helps to make the DSP pop from the card base, but the narrow border keeps the focus on the DSP. I then stamped a sentiment and framed it with Basic Black to make it stand out from the DSP. It works, right?
You can get 12 pieces from a single sheet of DSP, making this a great (and easy) way to make multiples of a card. You just change out the sentiment (and the shape, if you need to). For the Basic Black piece, you can get 6 pieces from one 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet, so still a great way to maximize your supplies.
I really wanted to use the twine from the matching Sweet Sorbet accessory pack (also FREE during Sale-a-bration), but couldn’t decide on how I wanted to use it… add a bow to the corner opposite the sentiment? What do you think?
