February Newsletter Project

Here is the project from this month’s newsletter. As you will see, I am managing to be seasonal. šŸ™‚

Stamps: Easy Events

Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Pear Pizzazz marker, Wild Wasabi marker

Paper: Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White, Sweet Shop DSP (Occasions Mini)

Accessories: Pool Party Baker’s Twine (Occasions Mini), Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details (Occasions Mini), Stampin’ dimensionals

I like all of the hearts on this card. Doesn’t it just make your heart happy?!?

After I put the card together, I noticed that the embossed DSP piece, with all of the big hearts, reminds me of clouds. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because the hearts are a little bit puffy. So, even though it’s in Calypso Coral, that’s the sky of the card! Neat, huh?

The other thing to point out to you… if you are going to add the Dazzling Details to a, ahem, detail :), and you want it to be really RED, then I suggest that you color that spot first, then apply the glitter. I left the little heart in the tree “blank” (i.e., white), and it looked a bit spotty after adding the glitter. I had to put two coats in order to get good color coverage. Wouldn’t have had to if I had colored the heart first!

For this card, I used Baker’s Twine as my “ribbon” instead of the very fun and cute ruffled ribbon. I LOVE the ruffled ribbon, but I thought the Baker’s Twine would be better because it’s more delicate. Doesn’t overpower the small hearts on the card…
