November Project

Here’s the card from this month’s newsletter. I wanted to do something related to Fall, yet be clean and simple. I didn’t really use typical fall colors. Instead, the color scheme is more outdoors-y, partly because I didn’t have the right DSP in Fall colors for what I had in mind. This particular DSP (Woodland Walk) has a nature theme, though. Hope that works for you!

Garden Card

Stamp set: Just Believe

Ink: VersaMark, Garden Green

Paper: Crumb Cake, Newsprint DSP, Woodland Walk DSP

Accessories: Clear Stampin’ emboss powder, Hemp twine, Candy Cane Big Designer Buttons (Holiday Mini), Waffle paper (black, Holiday Mini), Stamping sponges

Don’t you like that effect? I saw this idea from a swap on Linda Heller’s blog. Her background was an old background stamp, and I thought it would be neat to use the Newsprint DSP since one of the prints is a botanical text.

The technique is not new; it’s a type of emboss-resist. It’s so fun to see the embossed image “emerge” from the background when you sponge on the color.
