Reinker Sunset

Today’s card is related to yesterday’s card, in that I again created a sunset type of image using the Just Believe stamp set (I love that set! I’m so happy that we got it at Convention!!)

However, for the background color (for the sunset), I used a technique that was all the rage last year: the reinker spread.

Reinker Sunset Card

Stamp set: Just Believe

Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango, Tangerine Tango reinker

Paper: Crumb Cake, Shimmery White, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White

Accessories: Early Espresso 1/8″ taffeta ribbon, 1-3/4″ circle punch, Aqua painters

See, so easy and looks so amazing! The only hard part is putting the cardstock aside to dry (and waiting!). The variations in color happen automatically as the water dries at different rates on your cardstock.

For the circle image behind the sentiment, I stamped off once before stamping onto Whisper White. You can see, though, that the ink is still a bit dark. Hope it’s not too hard to read the sentiment!

Oh, and if you need a refresher on this technique… Basically, you spritz your Shimmery White cardstock (works best) until you see puddles. Using your Aqua Painter, apply reinker to your wet cardstock. Watch in amazement as the color spreads in different ways in the puddles of water. You can dab more or less color for the effect you want. You may have to hold down the corners, otherwise the water may puddle just in the middle. Also, as the water dries, the colors may move a tad; the randomness adds to the effect.
