If you follow other blogs, you’ve probably already heard: Stampin’ Up! has announced that they will be doing a color renovation. If you haven’t heard yet, well, now you know!
Stampin’ Up! will be updating their color palette, offering colors that are more in line with current color trends, without being too trendy. Colors will now be arranged into Collections, rather than families. Some colors will be going away, but old favorites will be returning and new ones introduced!
First, the retiring colors. If you find that any of these colors are some of your favorites and you can’t live without them, be sure to stock up before they are gone on June 30. Past experience has shown that you really do not want to wait until the last minute because stock may be depleted as we approach the end of June.
I think I am most sad to see Summer Sun and Pale Plum leaving… and perhaps Close to Cocoa.
Here is the chart of the colors that will be offered when the new Idea Book & Catalog is released on July 1:
If any of these charts are too tiny, let me know and I can try to enlarge them. 🙂
If you follow the In Color program, you may have noticed on the chart that previous In Colors will be returning as core colors! Woo Hoo!
- Pink Pirouette
- Riding Hood Red
- Tangerine Tango
- Pacific Point
- Baja Breeze
- Wild Wasabi
Also, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, and Soft Suede will be carrying over as core colors. So exciting!
There will be 5 new core colors added to the mix:
- Daffodil Delight (maybe this will be my new favorite yellow!)
- Cajun Craze
- Cherry Cobbler (from what we see so far, it’s a deep cherry red)
- Marina Mist (ooooooo, is all I can say!)
- Early Espresso (hurray! a deep brown!)
Demonstrators will be getting samples of these new colors in our next monthly magazine (soon to arrive, I hope!). I will comment more later when I get my hands on them in person.
One last thing: Kraft cardstock is making its way into the core colors and is being renamed to Crumb Cake (WHY do they like to choose food names? Now I want a brownie or something…)
Oh, but doesn’t this change sound so exciting? While I am sad to see some colors go, this update also means that Stampin’ Up! can increase the amount of items they can have at their warehouse. This means other new products (think… accessories such as buttons and ribbons).
I have set up a page to the right (go to About … Color Renovation) with the charts and a list of the retiring colors by color family. That way you have an easy reference as we approach our transition. Don’t forget, don’t miss out on your favorite colors that will be disappearing!
