Swaps from May Meeting

Here are the swaps we had for our demonstrator meeting on Tuesday night. I’m a little sad that we all have different schedules now… it was pretty fun when we ran out of space and had about 9 people at one time (I heard that previous years had as much as 12 or 16!)

The first is from Kim in Colorado/Utah. She always has such nice stuff. She used the Texturz plates, the Bella’s Bloom stamp set, and the matching Bella’s Border wheel. I  like the distressing on the cardstock border (I’m a sucker for that, I guess…)

The second card is from Janine. She used the All Holidays set for the outside and the inside is from Full of Life. The cardstock is a combination of To the Nines and Taste of Textiles. The card style is from a recent technique challenge on Splitcoast, called a Tri Shutter Card, and the technique challenge thread can be found here.

And that was it! You saw my swap card in yesterday’s post…

One last project from the meeting. We made a matchbox using the Matchbox die for the Big Shot. We were sort of lamenting that not a lot of different candy types fit in this box. (Four Hershey nuggets will fit, but not other brands…) From previous experiments, I found that 3 mini Reese’s peanut butter cups will fit, as long as you flip one over. Last night, I was digging around the candy stash and found another one that works well…Ghiradelli squares! Three stack nicely.

For the sentiment, we used one of the stamps from Cute & Curly for the frame, and added words from an All Holiday stamp. We hand-cut the oval out, since our oval punches don’t really match with this frame.

(A little aside as to why I was finding candy to put inside a make and take project: I was showing it to my husband and he asked if there was a treat inside. He said that they are extra special if they have a treat. So…) 🙂
